“On Sept. 2, 1996, Diego Armando Maradona played what was billed as his final game at Scarborough’s Birchmount Stadium, in Toronto, Canada. Not for Boca Juniors, but for Toronto Italia, the semi-professional Canadian National Soccer League (CNSL) team that his brother, Lalo, played for at that time. The stadium was packed to the rafters, as fans and players alike were treated to true football divinity.

Local film maker Adrijan Assoufi reached out to Pasquale Fioccola, Toronto Italian's president, and digitised VHS tapes from this historic encounter. This film tells the story of this incredible day from the perspective of the players who had the fortune of facing off against Diego Armando Maradona, in one of his final ever games.”
